The Secondhand Shops department currently includes six shops in Zurich and Winterthur as well as an online shop. The sales proceeds from donated clothes, shoes, and accessories benefit our social projects. The secondhand shops represent the Caritas brand and stand for solidarity, sustainability, and well-maintained secondhand goods.
Retail Specialist Textile (80%)
Due to a personnel change at Birmensdorferstrasse in Zurich, we are looking for a Retail Specialist Textile (80%) starting mid-February 2026 or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- Professional advice and support of our customers in the high fashion segment
- Assistance with all tasks arising in the store and sorting room
- Receiving donated clothes
- Sorting and evaluating donated clothing items, accessories, and hard goods
- Working at the cash register and preparing the daily accounts
- Maintaining the store premises and workspaces
- Caring for the donated clothes
- Designing the shop windows
- Participating in team meetings and company events
Our requirements
You are a motivated, independent, and reliable person with a passion for secondhand clothing and its sustainability concept. You want to bring your great interest in fashion, your good sense of trends, and your knowledge of high fashion labels to us. In addition, you bring the following:
- Completed training as a retail specialist (textile sector) or several years of experience in sales in the textile industry
- High social competence and enjoyment in dealing with people
- Resilience and flexibility
- Quick comprehension and enthusiasm for learning new things
- Experienced use of electronic communication tools (MS Teams)
- Very good German language skills
The workplace is at Birmensdorferstrasse 34, 38, and 50, 8004 Zurich
Store opening hours: Mon-Fri, 10 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.; Sat, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Start of work: 15.02.2026 or by arrangement.
