The Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service North (SPPAN) of the CHUV is looking for a senior physician for its adult inpatient psychiatry units located at the North Vaud Psychiatry Center (CPNVD) in Yverdon-les-Bains, with a workload between 80% and 100%.
The starting date is scheduled for August 1, 2026.
Context
The University Hospital of Vaud (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service North (SPPAN) is one of the clinical services of the Department of Psychiatry. It provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and local care for people suffering from mental disorders in the North Vaud region, in close collaboration with care network partners.
The teams work according to a multidisciplinary model, bringing together physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other health professionals.
Located in the heart of the city of Yverdon-les-Bains, the North Vaud Psychiatry Center (CPNVD) is part of an integrated community psychiatry approach, promoting accessibility to care and social reintegration of hospitalized persons.
The role of relatives is actively valued and integrated into care.
Mission
- You assume medical responsibility for the clinical activities of three adult inpatient psychiatry units in the North region of the canton of Vaud
- You organize and ensure the proper clinical and administrative functioning of these units
- You actively participate in postgraduate training within the SPPAN and ensure favorable conditions for its smooth running
- You contribute to the development of the sector and the continuous improvement of clinical and organizational practices.
Profile
- You hold an FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy (or an equivalent title recognized by MEBEKO)
- You hold, or are in the process of obtaining, a medical doctorate (with a commitment to obtain it within three years if applicable)
- You have received management training and have proven skills in leading multidisciplinary teams
- You possess strong analytical and synthesis skills, as well as a developed sense of planning, organization, and management
- You are solution-oriented, with decisional, initiative, and action-taking abilities
- For non-French-speaking candidates, you master French at a minimum C1 level (certificate required)
