The Riviera-Chablais Hospital, Vaud-Valais (HRC), is an inter-cantonal reference hospital, bringing together more than 2,000 employees. The Rennaz Hospital Center has more than 350 acute care beds. It is complemented by two Geriatrics and Rehabilitation Clinics as well as two medical on-call services. The operating room is a multidisciplinary technical platform comprising 9 elective operating rooms. They are divided into two activity centers and intended to accommodate adult and pediatric patients requiring scheduled surgery in one of our specialties (Orthopedics-Traumatology-Neurosurgery-ENT-Maxillofacial-Visceral-Gynecology-Obstetrics-Urology-Vascular). Two additional rooms are dedicated to 24/7 emergency care.
The main duties of this position are
- Ensure the preparation and instrumentation of elective and emergency interventions
- Guide and supervise the work of the Operating Room Assistant
- Develop and maintain knowledge to adapt to all new developments
- As a member of the care team, contribute to the smooth running of the service
- Develop versatility skills in the different surgical specialties
- Implement hygiene and safety measures taking into account the risks inherent to the nature of the interventions and the specificity of the patients, as well as the use of medical devices
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team for the care of operated patients, ensuring their well-being by providing quality reception and support
We require
- To hold the diploma of specialized nurse in the operating room (IDDO) or the diploma of operating room technician (TSO) or an equivalent foreign qualification, or to hold the ES or HES nursing diploma with confirmed experience in the operating room.
- Versatility in different surgical disciplines or willingness to evolve towards multidisciplinary work.
- Proficiency in standard computer tools.
- Organizational skills in work, ability to manage and handle equipment, and ensure hygiene and safety rules.
- Aptitude to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good adaptability skills.
