Checkpoint Zurich is the health center for queer people and one of the largest in Switzerland for HIV, sexually transmitted infections, and sexual health. We offer a comprehensive range of medical, psychological, and psychosocial services. In addition, we conduct campaigns and community work. Checkpoint Zurich is part of Arud, a non-profit organization in the field of outpatient medical care, and is operated in cooperation with the Sexual Health Zurich association. To strengthen our team, we are looking for you from December 1, 2025, or by arrangement: a committed and competent Senior Physician Internal Medicine/Infectiology.

Responsibilities

• Consultations focusing on HIV & sexually transmitted infections (STI)
• Infectiological and general medical care of people living with HIV
• Care and therapy of trans persons undergoing hormone treatments
• HIV pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP)
• Participation in prevention and research projects in the areas of HIV, LGBTIQ+, sex work, and migration (If you have a special interest in research, collaboration with the University of Zurich is also possible)

We expect

• Specialist title in Internal Medicine or Infectiology (FMH) or imminent completion
• 1-2 years of experience in treating people living with HIV
• Enjoy working with a variety of different sexual orientations and gender identities
• Understanding of Swiss German as well as good oral and written German and English skills
• High level of empathy and sense of responsibility
• In-depth knowledge of the life world and health of queer people in all its facets is an advantage
