The newly established Business Applications department as of August 2025 acts as a central service provider responsible for application management and the further development of central business applications as well as the continued digitalization of ZHdK's business processes. We also advance the project management methodology at ZHdK, especially in the area of agile project management methodologies. For this, we work closely with the Information Technology Center (ITZ), various departments and faculties, university development, and external partners.
To strengthen our eight-member department consisting of application managers, project leaders, and product owners, we are looking for you to join immediately or by agreement as
Product Owner and Application Manager Evento Subsystems, 80%
As Product Owner and Application Manager for the Evento subsystems in the Major/Minor study model area, your responsibilities include:
- Application management (especially system configuration, quality assurance, incident, problem, change, and release management) for the applications under your responsibility
- 2nd-level support and collaboration with 3rd-level support (internal/external)
- Proactive requirements and stakeholder management through close exchange with the departments (especially university and student administration, departments, study secretariats), software development, external partners, and the application managers for the core system Evento
- Participation in committees and professional platforms
- Strategic further development of the applications (roadmap) within your area of responsibility in close coordination with relevant stakeholders
- Maintaining a product backlog and prioritizing the requirements (user stories) contained therein
- Supporting development in implementing requirements (user stories) as well as responsibility including collaboration for systematic quality assurance and acceptance
- Documentation of requirements, specifications, and solutions
- Consulting and training of (key) users in the departments
We are looking for a personality with:
- Education in (business) informatics (university, ETH, FH, HF) with a focus on requirements engineering, business analysis, and product ownership or comparable training/continuing education
- Proven several years of experience in agile (IT) projects, preferably in the role of product owner
- Proven several years of experience in application management of business applications and in requirements engineering and/or business analysis
- Strong communication skills in spoken and written form, excellent mediation skills across all hierarchical levels, excellent German and good English skills.
- Strong analytical skills, structured working style, curiosity, enthusiasm for innovation, hands-on mentality, teamwork skills, and high intrinsic motivation
- Experience in lateral leadership as well as the ability to inspire teams and people
- Knowledge of university processes and experience with Evento and/or other student information systems is highly desirable
