Your Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic MYP Physical & Health Education (PHE) Teacher with MYP English Language & Literature to join our Middle School team from August 2026.
This position is primarily a PHE teaching role, complemented by some periods of MYP English Language & Literature. You will support students aged 11–16 in developing physical wellbeing, communication, critical thinking and personal identity, reflecting the IB philosophy that learning is holistic and connects movement, language and personal growth.
The successful candidate will inspire students to explore the links between health, physical performance, communication and identity, while preparing them for success in the IB Diploma Programme.
What you will do
In MYP Physical & Health Education you will:
- Design and teach inquiry-based PHE units aligned with the IB MYP framework
- Deliver a broad and balanced programme including team sports, fitness, movement, dance and games
- Integrate health education including fitness, nutrition, anatomy, physiology and wellbeing
- Assess student learning through practical, written and inquiry-based tasks using MYP criteria
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and motivating learning environment
In MYP English Language & Literature (some periods) you will:
- Plan and teach MYP units aligned with IB requirements
- Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening and critical analysis skills
- Teach a range of literary and non-literary texts from diverse cultures
- Prepare students for progression to DP Language A
- Assess and report using MYP Language & Literature criteria (A–D)
Across school life you will:
- Act as a homeroom / advisory teacher
- Contribute to student wellbeing and pastoral care
- Support MYP Personal Projects (Grade 10)
- Lead or support extracurricular activities, particularly in sport, fitness
What makes you our ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physical Education, English, Education or a related field
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Strong experience in Physical & Health Education
- Ability to teach some MYP English Language & Literature classes
- IB MYP experience preferred
- Valid First Aid qualification
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Experience with inclusive and differentiated teaching
- Excellent English communication skills; German an asset
