Develop your research focus and teaching area in Public Health at ZHAW in line with the strategic goals and profile of the Institute of Public Health at the Department of Health.

Start date: From July 1, 2026 or by arrangement (the assistant professorship is limited to 5 years)
The assistant professorship with tenure track serves to build a socially and future-relevant research focus and a research group in line with the ZHAW, IPH and FPH strategies. The central task of the assistant professorship is the acquisition of third-party research funds, implementation of research projects, dissemination, and building a research and practice network. Participation in ongoing research projects and activities of the FPH is expected, collaboration with other researchers at the IPH; at the Dept. H and ZHAW is desired. The assistant professorship brings its expertise and public health knowledge into teaching and continuing education.
Tasks lie both in research (80%) and teaching (20%):
- Developing own research area
- Developing and leading self-driven, large R&D projects
- Independent acquisition of third-party funds and dissemination
- Taking on tasks that position and strengthen the department
- Binding internal and external knowledge exchange
- Responsible for knowledge management
- Additional role-related responsibilities
- Professional personnel responsibility in the context of R&D projects (project staff)
- Financial responsibility for projects
- Conveying professional and methodological competencies
- Independent conduct of teaching units, professional and interprofessional, also across performance areas
- Co-responsibility for their further development and quality
- Supports and supervises staff and students
- University degree at PhD level
- Several years of extensive research experience (own third-party funding acquisition, project coordination/management)
- Leadership experience

- Several years of practical experience (min. 5 years)
- Further training in GCP I – III is an advantage
- Teaching experience and higher education didactic training are an advantage
Please submit along with your application documents a brief outlook on your current/targeted research focus in Public Health (max. ½ page), a publication list of publications from the last 5 years, and your ORCID account number. Your several years of practical experience must be explicitly stated in the CV. In exceptional cases, qualified applicants who only partially meet the required practical experience can make up the missing relevant practical experience in a part-time position during the assistant professorship.
