For its Environmental Service, the Municipality of Mont-sur-Lausanne is offering a position of:

100% Landscape Gardener (Tree Climber Arborist)

Purpose of the role:

Actively contribute to the management, maintenance, and sustainable development of the tree heritage and communal green spaces, with a respectful approach to biodiversity. Work closely with the team leader by providing operational support and continuous improvement proposals.

Tasks:

• Carry out pruning and trimming work on large trees, including climbing techniques and the use of specialized equipment;
• Ensure the maintenance of trees, shrubs, and hedges in accordance with good professional practices and safety requirements;
• Independently maintain grassy areas (parks, sports fields, communal buildings);
• Plant native trees and shrubs;
• Participate in the inventory and computerized monitoring of the tree heritage;
• Develop and maintain flower beds and spaces favorable to biodiversity;
• Ensure control of invasive neophytes;
• Participate in urban maintenance work, equipment maintenance, and installations for communal events;
• Contribute to winter service (snow removal, salting, snow stakes);
• Participate in the supervision of apprentices.

Your profile:

• Holder of a Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as a horticulturist-landscaper or equivalent training/experience;
• Solid experience in tree pruning and trimming (climbing, free-standing, and architectural) with mastery of physiological risks in urban environments;
• Excellent knowledge of plants (native and exotic trees and shrubs) and invasive neophytes;
• Strong awareness of sustainable management of tree heritage and biodiversity development;
• Interest and skills in flower bed design and lawn maintenance;
• Category B driving license;
• Residence within the municipal area or within a 20-minute radius.

Additional assets:

• Skills in small landscape masonry, earthworks, and rock placements;
• Arborist specialization (health diagnosis, safety, tree-habitat, remarkable trees);
• C1 driving license;
• Machine operator license.
