The city of Winterthur operates a modern geodata infrastructure that plays a central role in the administration, planning, and digital transformation of the city. To strengthen our team in the Geoinformation department, we are looking for a committed and innovative personality as a Geoinformatics Specialist to start immediately or by arrangement.Your Tasks
- Management and implementation of projects in the field of geoinformation and geodata infrastructure (GDIW) of the city of Winterthur
- Coordination and strategic further development of the municipal geodata infrastructure in coordination with internal and external city partners
- Consulting and training of specialist departments and employees on geoinformation-related issues
- Development of new geoservices and applications for the digitization of municipal processes and to improve internal and external data networking
- Support of the technical further development and integration of new geoinformation technologies
- Maintenance and further development of specialist shell applications, among others in the areas of municipal utilities, civil engineering, urban green spaces, official surveying
Your Profile
- Completed university degree (Master) in geoinformatics, geomatics, or geography with a GIS focus or in a comparable field
- Solid knowledge and practical experience in the field of geographic information systems (GIS), geodata management, and geodata infrastructures
- Experience in managing and implementing projects, as well as analytical, conceptual, and communicative strengths
- Knowledge of the legal foundations of geoinformation (Geoinformation Act, data protection regulations, open data)
- Affinity for digitization and the development of new, innovative solutions for the use of geodata
- Experience with web GIS technologies, databases (e.g., Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL/PostGIS), and interfaces (e.g., OGC standards)
