Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders, the prevention of recidivism, as well as the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Uitikon Measures Center (MZU) is the socio-pedagogical-therapeutic competence center of JuWe for the penal and measure enforcement of juvenile and young adult offenders.
We are looking for a committed and responsible Head of Security Service to start immediately or by arrangement, who, as a member of the management team, shapes the safety, quality, and further development of the MZU.
Your area of responsibility
- You lead the security service on a strategic, professional, and personnel level and continuously develop the department
- The professional and personal development of all employees in the security service is at the center of your responsibility
- You lead in accordance with our leadership principles
- As a member of the management team, you help shape the further development of the MZU, take responsibility for cross-departmental tasks, and influence interdisciplinary collaboration
- You ensure the planning and implementation of internal training and further education in the security service and at the MZU
- In the management on-call duty and crisis team, you act proactively and maintain close cooperation with emergency services and other partners
- You ensure the quality of processes, services, and deployment planning through controlling and optimization
- You represent the department confidently internally and externally and contribute your expertise to cantonal projects
Your profile
- Completed basic training (EFZ) with advanced training such as Correctional Services Specialist, Correctional Services Expert, or Trainer FA
- Several years of professional experience in correctional services or a comparable environment as well as proven leadership experience
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as confident use of common IT programs
- High resilience, decisiveness, and conflict management skills in demanding situations
- Strong leadership and social skills combined with organizational talent and communicative strength
- Enthusiasm for innovation as well as the ability to professionally and respectfully accompany young offenders
- Willingness to take responsibility at strategic and operational levels and actively further develop the security service
