The Office for Financial Services is responsible for the cantonal accounting, supports decentralized accounting departments, manages the cantonal assets, controls payment transactions, and prepares the annual financial statements. It also manages the canton’s financial and logistics applications. With the program "Further Development of Accounting and Financial Management," we are modernizing the financial organization, optimizing processes, consistently implementing HRM2, and creating the basis for continuous development and digital potential.

Financial Controller (m/f/d)

What to expect
- You take on a central role in the further development of the financial management of the canton of St. Gallen
- You lead the cantonal-wide project to introduce modern planning and analytics solutions
- You act as a subject matter expert in shaping future controlling processes and organization
- You accompany the establishment of a new competence center for financial controlling and later take on a key role
- You actively shape the transformation of the ERP and BI landscape (SAP FI CO, SAC, Power BI)
- You support management bodies with analyses, scenarios, and recommendations for action
- You work closely with various stakeholders and political interest groups and contribute visibly to the modernization of financial management
What distinguishes you
- You have a university degree in business administration, financial management, or a comparable qualification (e.g., certified auditor / controller)
- You have several years of experience in financial controlling and the public sector
- You have demonstrably at least five years of experience in leading complex projects and change initiatives
- You think strategically, work solution-oriented, and implement projects purposefully
- You communicate clearly, can moderate various stakeholders, and convince with a professional appearance
- You have a strong affinity for data, digitalization, and modern analytics tools
- You bring solid knowledge of SAP FI CO as well as BI solutions such as Power BI or SAP Analytics Cloud
