About the job

Together uniquely on the way
We are the Foundation for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Youth Zollikofen - a private, politically and denominationally neutral organization with a non-profit objective. Our task is to support and accompany people with special needs from birth to young adulthood. We offer additional services to parents, teachers of public regular schools and special elementary schools, as well as to professionals. Our core competencies lie in the support and accompaniment of young people with visual impairment, blindness, multiple disabilities, or from the autism spectrum.
For our substitute pool, we are looking in the Education and Living department

Tasks
When our employees are sick, have accidents, need to care for their own sick children, or are absent for other reasons at short notice, it is difficult for us to fill this gap in the class or residential team. For this reason, we are building a substitute pool. We are looking for people who are not dependent on a regular income but can step in spontaneously when needed. For example, we address retirees who are looking for a varied and meaningful task, or people after a family break whose children are older and who want to re-enter the workforce.
To get to know the activities and build a relationship with the children and young people, we will introduce you for 3 consecutive weeks. Afterwards, assignments are made by mutual agreement. You can refuse at any time without reason if you already have other plans.
As a substitute, you individually accompany blind or visually impaired students or those on the autism spectrum. You implement the support plan and teaching according to the teacher's instructions and assist with daily organization. You promote, support, and accompany the students during school and in their free time.
Requirements
You have experience in supporting children and young people with disabilities, especially in the autism spectrum. Besides your interest in the topic of the autism spectrum, you are motivated to engage with other disabilities. Ideally, you have a degree as a social pedagogue or a comparable qualification. You can approach challenges, such as those presented by students on the autism spectrum, with the necessary professionalism and calm. You can easily reconcile different working hours with your private life and see assignments in various teams as an enrichment. With your open and constructive manner, you contribute greatly to a good team climate.
We offer
Our culture is characterized by appreciation and openness. In your activity, you take on a lot of responsibility and receive the corresponding scope for design.
