About the job
The rose city of Rapperswil-Jona is looking for the position starting May 1, 2026, or by arrangement:
The Department of Security and Environment includes the police service, the fire department, civil protection, commercial and fire police, as well as the wastewater treatment plant and the public works department. Our employees – including many long-standing colleagues – carry out their work for the city and its 28,000 residents with great enthusiasm and dedication.
Short distances in everyday life, open doors, a practically flat hierarchy, and networked work characterize us. We maintain an open and collegial atmosphere. Progressive training and further education opportunities, flexible working hours, and room for ideas and development form the basis of our working conditions.
In this exciting role, you will monitor stationary traffic and be responsible for managing public parking spaces. Through your presence, you convey a sense of security to our residents and tourists and serve as their contact person. You are responsible for enforcing municipal regulations and support various administrative areas of the city. In addition to administrative tasks, you will also operate the police service counter and telephone.
You bring the best prerequisites with a completed vocational training, very good German language skills in speaking and writing, and an impeccable reputation. Ideally, you have completed training in Police Assistance Service (PAD) or Stationary Traffic Control (KRV), or you are willing to pursue further training accordingly. You are also characterized by strong communication skills, confident demeanor, discretion, assertiveness, and negotiation skills. You are accustomed to irregular working hours and weekend shifts. Your place of residence is in Rapperswil-Jona or the surrounding area.
