SUMMARY OF THE JOB

The Data Scientist will support digital transformation (automations, data strategy) and analytics (descriptive and predictive) projects.

MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data curation and automation: Cleaning of raw data and gap filling, transformation of raw data into different formats and alignment with master data, integration of data from various sources and automation of data matching processes, updating/maintaining/backups of databases
  • Data visualization: Maintaining and amending dashboards (Qlik, Tableau or similar)
  • Monthly reports/presentations automation: suggest and implement best options/tools
  • Support data strategy project: Participate in the discovery, design and the implementation of the new Datalake development for the Holcim Trading applications
  • Support GenAI applications: Collaborate with our 3rd party consultants and the corporate team to implement and deploy the AI use case identified for Holcim Trading

PROFILE REQUIRED

Education/Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related discipline with an IT focus

Experience

  • Proven experience working with big datasets and SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
  • Proven experience working Databricks Big Data Intelligence platform
  • Proficiency in Python (& PySpark is a plus) programming language for data analysis and machine learning tasks. Strong knowledge of standard analytical packages like Pandas, Numpy etc.
  • Experience in data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau or similar
  • Very good understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and feature engineering is a plus
  • Experience in working with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus

Knowledge and skills

  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Proficiency in Python Programming Language
  • Data Visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau or similar
  • Cloud based platforms(e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
