As of February 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are seeking your support as a Prosecutor with Floating Function (100%).
Job Description
The focus of your duties is the management of criminal investigations in the area of the Criminal Code and ancillary criminal law. You provide on-call services and represent prosecutions before the district court. We also value your participation in projects and commissions.
As a prosecutor with a floating function, you either remain, by order of the Office of the Attorney General, for a limited time at a regional office as part of replacement assignments or, on the other hand, work in the premises of Department J in Zurich as part of relief assignments. During replacement assignments, you are organizationally integrated into the respective offices and report to the respective lead prosecutor. All Regional Public Prosecutor's Offices are possible workplaces for replacement assignments.
Requirements Profile
You have the necessary local and personal flexibility and experience in handling criminal cases and court experience. Ideally, you hold a lawyer's license and have completed the CAS Forensics course. You apply your very good knowledge of criminal and criminal procedural law practically, and you conduct your investigations systematically and efficiently. Formally, you are eligible to be elected as a prosecutor according to the Zurich Court Organization Act.
Your personal strengths include absolute integrity, discretion, and high resilience. Diplomatic skills combined with assertiveness enable you to consistently implement your will to prosecute. You decide independently and take responsibility but also stand out for your teamwork and collegiality.
Assistant prosecutors who are expected to receive the WFZ by mid-January 2026 are also invited to apply.
We offer
In this versatile, demanding role, you will operate in a socially highly relevant, meaningful, and interdisciplinary work environment with corresponding employment conditions. You will get to know and support various Regional Public Prosecutor's Offices and their departments in a varied environment and be part of a committed, open, and connecting Department J.
For further information, the head of the department, lic. iur. Pascal Gossner, Tel. 043 258 23 47, is happy to assist you.
We look forward to receiving your application by no later than January 4, 2026, exclusively via the job portal.
