Director Internal Communications
About the role
As Director Internal Communications, you will define and shape how Sonova engages, informs, and inspires its global workforce. You will set and execute a strategic communication agenda that supports our business priorities, strengthens our culture, and drives clarity and alignment across the organization.
Operating at the heart of the company, you will partner closely with HR, Operations, and the Executive Committee to guide leaders on impactful communication, support major transformations, and elevate how Sonova shows up as an employer of choice. You will lead a small, global team and operate in a highly international environment where your work has visible influence and enterprise‑wide impact.

- Define and lead Sonova’s global internal communications strategy, aligned with business priorities and our employer value proposition
- Partner with HR and Operations as a communication business partner, supporting global functional transformations, culture initiatives, and leadership visibility
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the Executive Committee and senior leaders on employee engagement and internal communications; Equip and coach senior leaders with communication tools, guidance, and capabilities that improve clarity, transparency, and engagement across the organization
- Lead internal communications for major global transformations and organizational changes, translating complex change into accessible communication ensuring clarity, transparency, and alignment at all levels of the organization.
- Strengthening alignment across Sonova’s regions and businesses by driving a unified enterprise narrative and ensuring consistent communication across all functions and regions
- Drive high-impact storytelling and messaging linked to Sonova’s strategic priorities, culture and behavioral themes, ensuring consistency, quality, and brand alignment across all internal channels and platforms.
- Continuously evolve formats and channels using data, insights, and KPIs to increase effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Lead site communications for Sonova’s global headquarters in Stäfa and coordinate site-level communications across key locations
More about you
- Master’s degree in Communications or a related field
- Extensive experience working in or with complex, multinational organizations, navigating diverse cultures and stakeholder environments
- Proven experience advising and influencing C-suite and senior leaders
- Strong strategic and hands-on capabilities, with excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
- Native-level English; any additional languages will be a plus
- Background in journalism or agency environments is a preferred
