To respond even faster and more effectively to customer and market needs in the future, we are building a digital product development organization. Our digital channels and products are of high strategic importance for our existing and future users. In the role of Teamlead Backend Development, you will significantly contribute to continuing the success story of Mobility. You have the chance to actively participate in building the development department and to advance the internalization of the currently still partially external software development.
Your tasks
- You lead a team of backend engineers in a matrix organization and are responsible for the further development of your employees
- You are responsible for the technical strategy and establish standards in the area of Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, and OpenShift
- You actively participate in the technical replacement of our legacy backend and the transition to the new tech stack, as well as in the internalization of the currently largely external technical know-how
- Together with the developers and architects, you are an essential contributor to architectural decisions and technology-related roadmaps
- You actively design efficient development and operational environments incorporating current DevOps practices
- You lead the establishment and implementation of best practice approaches in backend development
- You carry the personnel responsibility including recruitment, employee discussions, and individual development plans for the team of backend developers
What you bring with you
- You have at least 5 years of hands-on backend development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and containerized environments (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- You bring experience in leading software developers – either in a line role or as a lead engineer
- You have solid knowledge in software architecture, distributed systems, integration technologies, and databases
- You are experienced in agile working methods and product organizations
- You have the ability to combine technical excellence with organizational thinking
- For our digital transformation, you bring good communication skills – both on a technical and human level, to bring people along the way
- You are fluent in German and English
