Job Description
Reporting to the Assistant Manager Front Office, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Welcome guests and handle their arrivals and departures according to chain standards
- Accompany guests to their rooms and explain the operation of the hotel and facilities
- Perform billing and cash handling
- Manage and follow up on complaints and ensure communication
- Assist guests and colleagues with their specific requests
- Promote the hotel’s points of sale (restaurants, bars, and Spa)
- Make reservations
- Know how to manage the telephone switchboard and emergency center
- Assign rooms according to guest preferences (profile)
- Ensure promotion of the loyalty program
- Follow up on guest requests (technical, laundry, lost and found, etc.)
- Participate in service briefings
- Lead by example and apply LQA technical and emotional standards
- Apply and master safety rules during critical situations: Think and stay calm, alert as soon as the situation allows – observe to provide as many details as possible during testimony – protect the scene until police arrival
- Commit to the quality of service, discretion, and perfect honesty
- Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling, and keep calm at all times
- Respect ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules, hygiene, and sanitary prescriptions
- Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and company
- Any other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar position required
- Previous experience in a 4* or 5* hotel is an asset
- Fluency in French and English
- Knowledge of a third language (German, Russian, or Arabic)
- Sense of hospitality and sales
- Knowledge of payment techniques (currencies, credit cards, checks...)
- Good knowledge of computer software
- Knowledge of Opera Cloud software is an asset
- Knowledge of safety rules
- Composure (handling customer complaints and emergency situations)
- Ability to take initiative
- Adaptability / Flexibility
Physical demands of the position (include but are not limited to):
The receptionist is standing 90% of the time and may face temperature variations (open door). The workload of the receptionist fluctuates greatly depending on arrivals/departures and guest requests.

To work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
