Profile

The anesthesia service of the Regional Hospital of Lugano is the only one in Ticino recognized by the FMH as a level A2 (3 years) training center for obtaining the specialist title. The service staff manage over 6,000 patients annually for a total of 12,000 hours of anesthesia.

We offer all types of anesthesia necessary for the range of interventions performed at the Regional Hospital of Lugano, such as: general surgery, visceral surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics and traumatology, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, urology, otorhinolaryngology, plastic surgery, hand surgery, gastroenterology, and interventional neuroradiology.

Essential requirements:

• degree/diploma in medicine and surgery and specialization in Anesthesia or equivalent title (for Italy specialization in Anesthesia and Resuscitation) with related registration in MedReg before starting work. For doctors with foreign titles: recognition by the Federal Commission for Medical Professions MEBEKO is mandatory
• proven knowledge of the Italian language (required level at least B2) with related registration in MedReg before starting work, knowledge of other national languages and English is desirable
• work experience in Anesthesia departments
• autonomy in managing critical patients in the operating room
• strong availability and inclination to teamwork
• constructive and proactive attitude
• proficiency in IT tools.
