On our mixed psychotherapeutic and psychosomatic ward, we care for 12 patients in a milieu therapeutic setting. Close collaboration in the interprofessional team is central to us – it enables holistic, needs-oriented care and therapy. Here you bring in your expertise and actively shape your environment.
What you will move with us
- You care for and accompany 12 patients on our private ward in their daily life organization
- Actively shaping the milieu therapeutic structures in the department is part of your responsibilities
- You work according to the Lean philosophy and interprofessionally for our patients
- You ensure the nursing process and organize the daily routine
- You support and promote our patients within the framework of key worker work

About us
Barmelweid is the leading specialist and rehabilitation clinic in Northwestern Switzerland and the largest psychosomatic clinic in Switzerland. The clinic cares for patients inpatient in 285 beds. The clinic specializes in geriatric, internal medicine, cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, Long-Covid, psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy, psychocardiology as well as sleep medicine.
At Barmelweid, the Lean mindset and methods are central: All efforts are focused on the patients. This includes standardized safety rounds, the patient board, and leveling the workload on the wards through flows. Nursing in the Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy is complemented by the key worker method, nursing in the Department of Internal Medicine by care managers.
Patients usually stay at Barmelweid for 2 to 6 weeks. This gives our nurses time to engage deeply with the patients. You can expect a lively operation with interprofessional work that calls on all the skills of a nurse.
Barmelweid employs over 700 staff. It is located at about 800 meters altitude on a clearing in the Aargau Jura and is embedded in a unique environment with a nature park.
