Service Dog Handler 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of seven main departments of JuWe. With 399 places, JVA Pöschwies is the largest closed correctional facility for men in Switzerland. It fulfills a central state function and, according to legal mandate, is responsible for the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public.
We are looking for a responsible and reliable person with high social competence to start immediately or by arrangement.
Your area of responsibility
- Together with your service dog, you ensure security throughout the entire JVA Pöschwies site, thus making a central contribution to the orderly operation of the institution
- You support interventions as well as prisoner transports and always act with care and professionalism
- You control incoming and outgoing traffic including vehicles and drivers, contributing to safety and order
- You work across departments and especially support the central office as well as other work areas within the department and the entire institution
Your qualifications
- You have completed a vocational training with a federal certificate of competence, a (specialized) high school diploma, a specialized middle school certificate, or an equivalent qualification
- You are characterized by independence, commitment, and a high sense of responsibility
- You have experience in the service dog field and own a protection dog
- You show interest in tracking dog work and are willing to further develop in this area
- You are mentally and physically resilient and can reconcile changing working hours well with your obligations
- You are willing to work shifts, including weekend, night, and holiday shifts
- You have very good oral and written German skills; additional language skills are an advantage
- You are proficient with the MS Office suite
- You have an impeccable reputation and are at least 25 years old
