You will join our Highrise & Complex Buildings Team
As our new Sr. Structural Engineer– Highrise & Complex Buildings, you will be part of our global Highrise department, Ramboll’s dedicated team of Highrise experts which have designed over 150 tall building projects globally, including some of the most technically challenging. You would be responsible for coordinate with project managers and/or engineers for structural design tasks in the High-Rise department in Chennai and supporting the global department which also has offices in Copenhagen, London, Dubai, and Singapore.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Structural Design of Concrete / Steel Structures, understanding of various design methods and design accordingly.
- Able to interpret soil investigation report and use appropriate geological design parameters
- Able to work independently and apply practical knowledge typically obtained through advanced education and some work experience. Understands the specific needs or requirements of specific problems and apply skills/knowledge thereafter
- Prepare design methodology and design criteria
- Perform structural analysis and design of Highrise structures, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international building codes and standards.
- Be responsible for cost analysis, generation of structure loading schemes, wind and seismic loading calculations on structures and design.
- Member design and detailing for concrete and steel elements.
- Working out the loads and stresses on different parts of a structure
- Using computer simulations to predict how structures will react under different conditions with knowledge of basic analysis techniques against lateral loads.
- Develop and review structural engineering plans, details, specifications, and calculations.
- Working closely with other engineers, architects, planners and construction manager teams independent work on creative projects including green buildings and infrastructure
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

- BE/B. Tech degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute. M.E. / M. Tech would be desirable.
- Must possess 6 + years hands-on design experience including in the design of Highrise buildings, foundations, reinforced concrete & steel structures.
- Must have a sound technical understanding of structures and experience of designing concrete structures, including both substructure and superstructure. Experience with the American and European design codes will be an added advantage.
- Candidates having experience in working with Multinational Companies / overseas will be preferred. Should be able to provide design and detailing inputs to technicians for developing drawings
- Proficiency in ETAB/ SAFE/ STAAD and any other applicable software like ROBOT & RAM Concepts.
- Should understand various stages of project deliveries
