The Europe Institute is an interdisciplinary research institute of the University of Basel that researches the development and present of Europe and Switzerland from a global perspective and thus contributes to answers to central questions of our time. The institute develops interdisciplinary concepts of global European research and offers specialized study programs and events on this topic to locate scientific topics in the spectrum of public relevance questions.
Your tasks
- Support of scientific research work for a book project within the framework of the SNSF project "Historical Perspectives on Comparative Philosophy: A Digital Humanities Mapping Approach and Paul Masson-Oursel as Nodal Point for a Global History" (bibliography, source research, etc.)
- Support of the staff of the SNSF project in general organizational and administrative tasks (including organizing events and activities)
- Support of the management and study coordination of the Europe Institute in general organizational and administrative tasks and work in the secretariat of the Europe Institute
- Organizational support for events and activities of the Europe Institute (e.g. workshops, conferences, evening lectures)
- Support of the public relations work of the Europe Institute (social media, newsletter)
Your profile
- Advanced bachelor or master student
- Interest in historical and/or philosophical topics
- Interest in the topics and work of the Europe Institute
- Careful, structured, independent and reliable way of working
- Knowledge in the administrative area desirable
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office required, basic knowledge of image editing and layout work desirable
- Enjoyment of event organization and practical activities
- Very good German and English skills in spoken and written form. Additional language skills are desired but not required.
