The Directorate for Security, Environment and Energy is committed to safety, protection and assistance, environmental protection, sustainable energy supply, and is responsible for building permit procedures as well as the Bern Zoo. Protection and Rescue Bern unites the professional and militia fire brigade of the city of Bern, the Bern rescue service, and the civil protection organization Bern plus. It operates the emergency call centers 118 and 144. The prevention and intervention areas of Protection and Rescue Bern provide the best possible safety and protection around the clock – in the federal city, the Bern agglomeration, and the canton.
Your tasks
- Ensuring the smooth processing of medical emergency calls 144 and alerting and dispatching the rescue services and partner organizations
- Coordination of medical rescue and transport operations of the rescue services in the operational area
- Organization, coordination, and leadership of operations in the operational area
- Technical support for rescue services, partner organizations, and first or rapid responders
- Documentation of the measures initiated
Your profile
- Diploma as a paramedic HF or transport paramedic EFZ as well as willingness for internal additional training as Incident Commander 144
- Solid expertise in the functioning of regional rescue services and partner organizations
- Willingness to work in shifts
- Good IT user skills
