The Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology METAS is the reference institute for measurements and measuring instruments in Switzerland. To ensure that a liter is always a liter (e.g., when refueling), METAS carries out calibrations, conformity assessments, and consultations for business, research, and administration. Measurement accuracy creates trust, especially at the social and political level, and is indispensable in many areas: road traffic, electricity billing, time transmission, measurements in environmental and health sectors, etc. At METAS, various disciplines come together and complement each other – and this has been the case since 1862.
Your new challenge
- You are responsible for the timely processing of goods receipts and dispatches
- Organization and coordination of international transports considering deadlines, costs, and transport regulations
- Preparation of complete import/export customs documents (including invoices, shipping papers, and certificates of preference) according to international regulations
- Review and approval of freight forwarding and packaging invoices as well as close coordination with freight forwarders and internal departments
- Customs-related clarifications with authorities, customers, and agents
Your profile
- Completed commercial basic training with further education as an import/export clerk or preferably foreign trade specialist
- Several years of professional experience in import and export business, preferably in the industrial sector
- You have a pronounced service mentality with a focus on customer-oriented and solution-oriented order processing. The activity includes a balanced mix of physical work and office tasks, requiring good physical resilience.
- Solid language skills in German and English, both spoken and written, ideally complemented by French skills in spoken and written form
- Good customs knowledge and a good overall overview
