What's the role?
In this role, you will play a key part in advancing Hilti’s product portfolio through the development of innovative and sustainable technologies. You will collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to perform material analysis and testing, focusing on metallography, corrosion, and tribology. Your hands-on approach and creative thinking will be essential to our success.
Start date is flexible to the student's availability, duration for 6+ months
What does the role involve?
As an intern in the materials team, you will work closely with our experts, project managers, and research engineers in the areas of metallography, corrosion, and tribology. You will prepare metallographic samples and characterize them for failure analysis and development projects. In the area of corrosion, you will support material and coatings characterization and perform accelerated corrosion tests in the lab. In tribology, you will conduct experimental tests on tribometers and component test rigs to analyze friction and wear phenomena.
You will work with state-of-the-art equipment in a modern lab environment, developing and optimizing test methods, refining experimental procedures, and enhancing testing protocols across all fields. Documenting results and preparing comprehensive reports will be crucial to your role. Your contributions will be vital in advancing Hilti’s innovative and sustainable technologies.
What you need is:
- Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in material science, mechanical engineering or a related fields during the entire internship period
- Experience in working in a laboratory environment or with experimental testing methods is a plus
- You have a proactive and self-reliant personality and enjoy working in an international team
- You possess a structured approach to work
- You enjoy hands-on work
