About The Bite

Since August 2013, The Bite has been offering gourmet burgers in authentic Zurich street-style ambiance in Zurich's District 4. It is a perfect symbiosis of the best, high-quality ingredients combined with a cool, stylish atmosphere.

The Bite is part of the Von Matt Hospitality Group (VMHG). We are a family business operating several venues in Zurich. In addition to The Bite Gourmet Burger, the brands Brisket Southern BBQ & Bar, Yardbird Southern Fired Chicken, and LA Brea SoCal Tacos also belong to the family. Eating with friends should always be an unforgettable experience; we offer the perfect place for it.

From March or by arrangement, we are looking for you for the position of:

Managing Director 100%

Your Tasks

• Managing The Bite according to business management principles
• Developing and leading the kitchen and service teams
• Being a host and building customer relationships
• Contact person for feedback
• Active participation in daily business (organizing and leading shifts)
• Assisting in developing the F&B offer
• Responsibility for the budget with incentives for strong performance
• Administration with cost control, personnel planning, monthly closing, ordering, etc.
• Ensuring hygiene standards are maintained
• Close collaboration with the team at The Bite, the managing directors of the Von Matt Hospitality Group, and the head office team, including owners

Your Profile

• Leadership personality with education and training in gastronomy (e.g., hotel management school, G2)
• Love, desire, and passion to be part of our The Bite team and the VMHG family
• High initiative and willingness to actively work on the front line
• Enthusiasm for our concept as well as gastronomy trends in general
• Independent working style as well as leadership qualities and teamwork skills
• High quality and responsibility awareness as well as flexibility and resilience
• Organizational talent with experience in administrative tasks
• Sales and revitalization of the restaurant through a strong presence
• Fluent in German and English
