For the leadership of our Operation Management area, we are looking for you: an experienced, solution-oriented, and technically skilled leader who modernizes, automates, and makes ICT operations resilient – thereby creating the foundation for the digital transformation of the JI Directorate.
Your task – You shape the operation of the future
- You lead a team of technical specialists and are responsible for the stable, secure, and future-oriented operation of the entire ICT infrastructure of the JI Directorate.
- You ensure the stable, secure, and highly available infrastructure of the JI Directorate – from the data center to platforms and middleware.
- You are responsible for the technical infrastructure, plan its further development, and manage the lifecycle of servers, storage, network, backup, and security components.
- You are responsible for the operation of the network and security infrastructure of JI and work closely with network and security service providers of JI and the canton.
- In doing so, you work closely with the Office for Informatics (AFI), the specialist departments, and internal teams. Through proactive monitoring, capacity management, incident response, and compliance, you sustainably shape the continuous availability of all systems.
- You are responsible for the operation of critical systems during and outside business hours.
- You lead the operation towards infrastructure-as-code, standardization, and automated deployment processes.
- You promote automation in configuration, operation, monitoring, and incident response.
- You lead the 2nd & 3rd level support for infrastructure, printing & scanning, and ensure quick response to disruptions and failures.
- You strategically and operationally prepare the migration of parts of the infrastructure and applications to AFI.
- You are responsible for asset management of the infrastructure and ensure operational safety, compliance, and regular security checks.
- You coordinate ICT-relevant relocations, building-specific requirements, and technical support at new or existing locations.
Your profile – You build a powerful, learning team
- You are a leader with a strategic view, deep technical understanding, and the ability to lead teams through times of change.
- You have a university degree in computer science, IT management, or a comparable field (e.g., ETH, HF, FH).
- You have at least 10 years of professional experience in infrastructure, data center operations, or system engineering.
- You bring at least 5 years of leadership experience in an operations or technology environment.
- Experience with server, storage, network, and security infrastructures.
- Expertise in virtualization, backup & restore, firewalls, automation, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Very good knowledge of ITIL processes as well as modern operations and DevOps approaches.
- Confident use of automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Bash).
- You lead clearly, transparently, and development-oriented.
- You are experienced in transformations such as migration, standardization, or automation.
- You convince through communication skills, problem-solving competence, and stakeholder management.
