Construction Manager
Department of Civil Engineering / 80 - 100 % / Thusis
The Department of Civil Engineering is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of the cantonal roads as well as water construction and slow traffic in Graubünden. In addition, we take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads in the cantonal area. The road infrastructure of the canton includes over 1,450 structures, including bridges at heights of up to 90 meters and tunnels up to 3 kilometers long. The challenges posed by the nature of our mountainous canton in summer and winter make our work demanding and diverse. For this reason, we are committed to a systematic Occupational Health Management (BGM).
We are looking for a Construction Manager for the Road Maintenance Department in District 7 Thusis starting October 1, 2025 or by agreement.
Your area of responsibility
- Management and control of assigned construction sites as a representative of the client
- Scheduling and coordination of the work
- Ensuring quality, measurement, and execution of all contractual work
- Preparation of cost estimates, tender documents, and billing
- Monitoring the budget
- Completion of technical tasks for road maintenance
- Providing on-call service as an operations manager
This is what we expect from you
- Completed vocational training in the construction industry
- Additional training as a construction supervisor, foreman, construction manager, or equivalent further education
- Several years of professional experience in road and civil engineering
- Practical experience in cost estimation
- Personality with assertiveness, organizational and negotiation skills, as well as teamwork ability
- Knowledge of Italian is an advantage
