About the job
Leadership: You are responsible for the professional, personnel, and financial management of the Education & Mediation department, including freelance staff.
Mediation work: You are responsible for the planning, implementation, and quality assurance of mediation concepts for different target groups. These are thematically aligned with planned exhibitions and the collection of the Kunstmuseum Basel. You develop innovative educational offers and are responsible for the continuation, new or further development of guided formats, workshops, audio guides, outreach, and participatory offers with different communities.
Fundraising: Your additional tasks include active third-party funding acquisition for various offers of the Education & Mediation department and the preparation of fundraising dossiers.
Experience: You have several years of professional and leadership experience, possess good basic art historical knowledge of all epochs, and are familiar with the contemporary mediation discourse. Ideally, you have experience in international third-party funding acquisition from public institutions, foundations, companies, and private individuals.
Personality: You are a creative, independent, and solution-oriented personality with a passion for art and mediation. You have very high communication and social skills and a pronounced understanding of the importance and implementation of participation, inclusion, diversity, and outreach, as well as intercultural competence.
Flexibility, reliability, teamwork, and resilience complete your profile.
Education: You have a completed degree (Bachelor) in Art History, Art Education, Curatorial Studies, or Fine Arts. You are familiar with the Swiss art and cultural landscape.
Language: You have very good language skills in German, English, and French.
