Restaurant Manager at the Hospitality Service
The hospitality service is looking for a restaurant manager at 80%-100% (permanent contract).
The starting date is scheduled for April 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals and one of the best in the world according to the 2025 ranking by Newsweek magazine. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading and European-scale role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching, and research units can fully focus on their core business by providing and developing efficient operational logistics services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilization, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The catering sector, including cafeterias, kiosks, and snack bars, is attached to the Hospitality Service of the LOH Department. It is responsible for selling fast food items in self-service at various sales points within the hospital campus and external sites. The service offers staff and visitors catering that aligns with the institution's orientation and market offerings.
Mission
- You are the on-site contact person for users
- You replace the team leader in their absence
- You organize daily work and respond to telephone requests
- You co-manage work schedules and employee shifts within your team
- You establish sales forecasts and the list of needs, as well as orders
- You ensure the proper setup and sale of buffets, as well as quality service to customers
- You handle financial reconciliations related to cash register management
- You apply and enforce hygiene standards and guidelines
- You ensure communication and information flow within your activity sector.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) in hospitality or catering
- You have at least 4 years of experience in the catering sector
- Ideally, you have experience in team supervision and leadership
- You are comfortable with numbers and have good knowledge of payment tools (TCPos)
- You know the principle of self-monitoring (Odal), as well as hygiene standards (HACCP)
- You are organized, rigorous, autonomous, and able to respect and manage priorities
- You have good mastery of common office software tools
- You master the French language both orally and in writing - level B2 required
- You are willing to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
