You will become part of the Procurement Team, which currently consists of five employees and is made up of strategic and operational purchasing. Together, the team is responsible for procuring IT services, licenses, and other services for Switch and ensures efficient, transparent, and customer-oriented processing.
In your role, you will complement the existing team and take on a central function in operational support and coordination along the procurement process. You will work closely with internal stakeholders as well as external partners such as universities and suppliers. The position is an important interface between operational purchasing, internal demand carriers, and external providers.

Procurement Operations Specialist (80% - all identities and backgrounds)
- Operational support in purchasing and reselling: recording and processing orders, communication with customers and suppliers, as well as deadline and contract tracking
- Administrative tasks such as maintaining master data, documentation, reporting, and team support
- Coordination between strategic purchasing, internal stakeholders, and external partners
- Participation in the organization and coordination of events and tenders (e.g., mini-tenders)
- Analysis of existing processes as well as collaboration in their optimization and partial automation (e.g., through workflows, tools, or interfaces)
- Support in internal projects in the procurement environment
- Several years of experience in a comparable role, ideally in sales administration, purchasing, or order processing
- Openness to digital tools as well as interest in process and automation topics (e.g., Excel, workflow tools, ERP systems)
- Analytical thinking and enjoyment in questioning and making processes more efficient
- Very good communication skills in dealing with internal and external contacts
- An independent, structured, and reliable working style with high initiative
- Very good German and English skills; French skills are an advantage
- A versatile role with responsibility and direct influence on efficient procurement processes
- Close collaboration in a committed team with high service and customer orientation
- An attractive working model with flexible working hours, home office, compensation for overtime, etc.
- The corporate language is German and English, the team language is predominantly German, and we offer support so that employees can achieve a comfortable level in German or English
- Offices in the heart of Zurich
- Occasional travel (about four times a year to Lausanne and participation in individual events)
