The opportunity
At Hitachi Energy Research, we closely collaborate with business areas to develop foundations for the next generation of Power Grids products. Located in the proximity of Zurich, the research center employs approximately 65 scientists from all over the world with cross-disciplinary expertise. In the Systems Integration and Physics Team, we address the challenges and opportunities in enhancing grid flexibility and facilitating renewable energy proliferation. A key focus of our work is multi-physics modeling for power electronic systems, which plays a critical role in fast-growing applications such as electric vehicle charging, energy storage and renewables like wind and solar. In this context, we offer a 6 months master’s thesis project on the design and comparative analysis of single-phase and three-phase DAB converters, providing the opportunity of working on real-world projects in an international team of researchers.
