The EOC, the multi-site hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory with a total of 1,000 beds. The organization effectively combines a local approach with an overall vision, guaranteeing the population a comprehensive and local hospital service, regardless of where the services are requested.
Thanks to the commitment and competence of over 6,500 collaborators and their attention to human relations, the EOC ensures quality healthcare by caring for over 41,000 inpatients annually and providing over 600,000 outpatient consultations.
The Institute of Integrated Diagnostics of Italian Switzerland (IDISI) brings together the Clinics of Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, and Laboratory Medicine and, with its approximately 600 collaborators and nearly 4 million exams and analyses performed each year, offers a complete and high-quality diagnostic service, meeting the needs of patients residing throughout the cantonal territory. Furthermore, the Institute is oriented towards university teaching and the promotion of biomedical research.
The Laboratory Medicine Clinic offers comprehensive analysis services on biological samples whose results can support the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases. Most of the over 3 million exams performed each year are on human, environmental, and veterinary biological samples.
The Pathology and Cytology Clinic provides anatomical pathology services for the entire EOC as well as for private clinics and medical practices throughout the canton. More than 80,000 cases concerning about 50,000 patients residing in the Canton are handled annually.

The collaborators of the Laboratory Medicine Clinic and the Pathology and Cytology Clinic know how to manage time efficiently and effectively. They are able to optimally handle high workloads while remaining calm under pressure. They have the functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform their work achieving high-quality results. They are open and flexible people with great willingness to change.
Necessary requirements:
- Diploma as a biomedical analysis technician dipl. SSS or equivalent recognized by the Swiss Red Cross;
- Manual skills and aptitude for technical work;
- Reliability and responsibility in carrying out activities;
- Ability to independently manage their work and initiative spirit;
- Relational, communication skills and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team;
- Orientation to change, development, and flexibility;
- Knowledge of main computer applications (Word and Excel);
- Knowledge of a second national language is desirable;
- Availability for mobility within the EOC laboratories.
