Lead and develop the Kantonales Laboratorium with 35 staff members.
Enforce food, chemical, and parts of agricultural legislation.
Manage quality control, accreditation, and strategic development.

Skills

Master of Science in a scientific field or equivalent; leadership experience required.
Strong interest in food law issues and quality assurance expertise.
Ability to work collaboratively with various agencies.

Due to the retirement of the previous office holder, we are looking for a head of office as of August 1, 2026 or by agreement as

Your role in the canton of Thurgau

Management and further development of the Cantonal Laboratory (35 employees)
Enforcement of food, chemical, and parts of agricultural legislation
Inspection and assessment of businesses and samples; ordering of measures
Processing of food and administrative law cases; legal proceedings; criminal charges
Responsibility for service mandate, budget, and accounting
Quality management, accreditation as well as strategy and organizational development
Participation in expert committees and cooperation with cantonal, federal, and international specialist offices
Media and public relations work

This is how you convince us

Master of Science in a scientific field or diploma according to the Medical Professions Act, ideally with a doctorate
Federal diploma for leading official food control (DLAL) or willingness to obtain it within two years
Several years of leadership experience
Interest in food law issues; experience in quality assurance and audits
Structured, convincing, and resilient personality
