Your mission
In service of the Institutional Life Project, the Community Health and Care Assistant is responsible for:
- Operating within a known legislative framework and health context (Professional Practice Act, Patient Rights, Professional and Functional Confidentiality, EMS Act, Specifications, directives issued by Management and the Head of Care, therapeutic instructions given by the Responsible Physician).
- Providing personalized care of a preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative nature as well as administering treatments and executing delegated medical orders under the supervision of the qualified Nurse.
- Participating in the development of Resident support projects closely aligned with their needs and expectations. Helping, supporting, and accompanying elderly people to live through and overcome crisis periods such as placement, acceptance of age- or illness-related disabilities, and mourning periods related to successive losses of home, physical, psychological, intellectual, or mental capacities.
- Ensuring communication to the qualified Nurse and traceability in the DIR computerized Resident file of observations, symptoms, reactions, or changes concerning their general condition.
Profile sought
- Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as Community Health and Care Assistant (ASSC) graduated only through Dual or Full-time pathway.
- Proficiency in spoken and written French.
- Knowledge of SADIES-DIR software and basic computer tools.
- Swiss nationality or valid work permit.
Your interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate respect, listening, and empathy without judgment towards Residents and families.
- Function as a referent for a predetermined group of Residents, as described in the Support Project. Guarantee, as such, the quality and continuity of care provided.
- Promote a work climate that ensures the best possible quality of care for Residents and professional satisfaction for Caregivers.
- Show flexibility and mutual aid if needed within the team and the Institution in general.
- Welcome, collaborate in the instruction and supervision of care staff during integration or training periods.
- Be capable of adapting and evolving.
Experience
- Good knowledge of the Geneva health network.
- Experience in geriatric/EMS environment and palliative care desired.
Specificities
- Teamwork, palliative care, end-of-life support.
- Sense of observation, analytical and synthesis skills.
- Respect for the elderly person, their beliefs, and values.
- Organizational skills, ability to make decisions.
- Awareness of own values, limits, and pursuit of development.
