As a Senior Data Scientist focused on Marketing Science, your mission is to transform how we measure and optimize our global marketing investments. You will be the statistical engine driving our marketing decision-making, building and scaling sophisticated models that decode the complexity of the customer journey. This role requires a blend of advanced statistical prowess and business acumen to move beyond the "what" of a model and define the "so what" for our strategy. You will empower our marketing teams with the clarity needed to fuel On’s rapid global growth through rigorous data-driven evidence.
Your Mission
- Build and Evangelize Models: You will work autonomously to design, build, and maintain our suite of marketing decision-making tools, including Media Mix Models (MMM) and Multi-Touch Attribution (MTA).
- Drive Business Action: Move beyond the build to champion innovative approaches; you will translate complex statistical outputs into actionable narratives that dictate how our business strategy should evolve.
- Master Complexity: Navigate significant data complexity and technical debt to provide high-quality statistical solutions that accurately reflect our multi-channel marketing environment.
- Lead Marketing Measurement and Experimentation: Design and execute advanced geo-testing and causal inference frameworks to validate model efficacy and measure true incremental impact.
- Communicate with Impact: Efficiently communicate complex statistical topics and model insights to both junior team members and executive stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Challenge the Status Quo: Proactively identify opportunities to improve our measurement ways of working, challenging existing conventions to ensure On remains at the cutting edge of marketing science.
- Strategic Planning: Clearly understand what to prioritize by managing the lifecycle of your projects from initial discovery through to production and stakeholder adoption.
- Foster Collaboration: Build a diverse network within On, collaborating with Digital Marketing and Product teams to ensure models are integrated into the daily rhythm of the business.
Your story
- Expertise in Statistics: You have a strong grasp of advanced statistical modeling and causal inference methods, with a proven track record of building MMM, MTA, or similar econometric models in a D2C or E-commerce environment.
- Autonomous Execution: You have experience managing large projects independently, demonstrating the ability to deliver high-standard results without needing a predefined map.
- Complex Problem Solving: You are not afraid of being stretched and possess the technical prowess to navigate messy, large-scale datasets to extract reliable insights.
- Communicator & Influencer: You have excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence team decisions and guide stakeholders through technical concepts.
- Strategic Thinker: You possess the business acumen to identify the "right" problem to solve at the right time, ensuring your work maximizes measurable business impact.
- Technical Proficiency: You are highly proficient in Python or R and SQL, with experience leveraging cloud-based platforms (e.g., Google Cloud/Vertex AI) to scale statistical applications.
