Teacher Geography at the Passerelle (a)

The Maturity School for Adults (MSE) is a second-chance education school supported by the Canton of Lucerne with about 180 students and 30 teachers. It is run as an independent department of the Reussbühl Cantonal School Lucerne in the emerging area of Lucerne North.

The MSE offers a part-time, three-and-a-half-year gymnasium course and a one-year Passerelle course for holders of a vocational or specialized maturity certificate, which concludes with internal, federally recognized supplementary exams. The MSE school system is based on an adult-appropriate combination of self-study and classroom teaching. Classes take place on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons and evenings as well as on Saturday.

The Maturity School for Adults offers committed teachers a lively, collegial environment and the opportunity to specifically support adult learners. In geography lessons, you bring in your professional and didactic expertise and design varied lessons.

• You teach geography for two to three classes at the Passerelle of the Maturity School for Adults and take on four to six weekly lessons.
• In addition, you participate in the implementation and correction of the internal written supplementary exams.
• Within this small workload, there is the possibility of a long-term position at the Maturity School for Adults.

• You have a university master's degree in geography.
• You also hold a teaching diploma for maturity schools.
• Several years of teaching experience at the secondary level II complete your profile, ideally also in teaching adults.
• Depending on the timetable, you are willing to teach on Tuesday evening, Wednesday evening, or Saturday.
