The opportunity
The High Voltage Products division of Hitachi Energy is globally recognized as a specialist in systems for power transmission and distribution. At the Zurich Oerlikon location, Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB) systems and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) are developed and manufactured for the reliable transmission and distribution of electrical energy. By using state-of-the-art development tools and methods, high reliability of switching systems and switchgear is ensured.
The Service organization is responsible for worldwide aftersales support of GCB and GIS systems, including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, additional services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits, and replacements.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to efficient and well-coordinated project execution in a global service environment. With a strong service mindset, attention to detail, and structured coordination skills, this position plays a key role in delivering high customer satisfaction and optimal project results.
How you’ll make an impact

Responsibility for the execution, organizational leadership, and coordination of onsite commissioning and maintenance activities for Generator Circuit Breaker service projects

Acting as the main point of contact for internal and external customers during site activities

Support of assigned field service personnel, including the creation of installation and assembly schedules while considering required resources such as tools and personnel

Monitoring, documenting, and reporting project progress and costs

Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality assurance measures, while minimizing project costs and risks

Process compliant handling of deviations during onsite activities, including the initiation of appropriate corrective actions

Compilation, filing, and archiving of project documentation, including technical documents, test records, and reports

Responsibility for the billing of performed services to customers

Contribution to continuous improvement of processes and activities (CIP) to achieve consistently high customer satisfaction
Your background
-
Higher technical education (HF) or a comparable qualification
-
Further education in project management (IPMA or PMI) is considered an advantage
-
Practical experience in the installation and/or commissioning of switchgear is beneficial
-
Solid technical knowledge and the ability to understand technical documentation, system interfaces, and operational constraints

Confident demeanor with strong communication skills, particularly in multicultural environments

Business fluent English and good knowledge of German

Strong team spirit combined with structured organizational skills

Assertiveness and leadership capability, with willingness to travel worldwide to construction sites

Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office
