System Engineer Linux (80-100%) starting from 01.10.2025 or by arrangement
At DV Bern, you shape the digital administration of tomorrow – with technology that works and a team that holds together. As a System Engineer, you play a central role in the operation and further development of our Ubuntu-based environment. Together with your team, you ensure stable and secure operations, contribute to 2nd and 3rd level support, and actively develop our systems. The Linux command line is your home, and independent work is in your blood. You can expect a modern tech stack with Linux, Bash, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab, and PostgreSQL, plenty of freedom, flat hierarchies, flexible working models, and a culture where you count as a person – not just as a function.
We expect from you
- IT education (federal certificate/diploma, HF, FH, or comparable work experience)
- Experience in the field of GNU/Linux
- Know-how in dealing with Ansible and Puppet is desirable
- Scripting languages are not unknown to you
- Experience with databases (MySQL / MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or others) is an advantage
- You have expertise in at least one of the following areas: logging stack consisting of OpenSearch/Fluentd/Grafana or comparable technologies, monitoring, Docker environments, load balancing and WAF/reverse proxy, web servers (Apache / nginx), DNS, PKI, or Java application servers (JBoss, wildfly, etc.)
- Strong service orientation, high independence, and personal responsibility
- Willingness to occasionally take on on-call duty
- Impeccable reputation
We offer
- Great creative freedom in your own area of expertise
- Individuality, a lot of responsibility, and room for initiative
- Flexible working hours and hybrid working forms
- Free choice of personal work device (Win, Linux, MacOS)
- Family-like and motivated team
- Individual, targeted further training
- Central location workplace
- In-house gym and relaxation room
- Internal cafeteria with excellent catering from Felfel and various free drinks
- No mainstream solutions, but innovative approaches
