About the job
Your new role
As part of the team at the Hauptpost Library, you will work together with seven other employees of the City Library and in close cooperation with the Cantonal Library. You will work largely in public service. There you support our diverse clientele in their media selection and advise them on other services and offers of the library. In addition, you take responsibility for the non-fiction media department (focus on travel guides). In doing so, you ensure a current, contemporary, and versatile range. This includes in particular the selection and acquisition of non-fiction media, their cataloging, equipment, and ongoing inventory maintenance. Since this is a limited maternity cover, a quick familiarization with existing processes and systems is expected. A certain degree of flexibility and initiative as well as the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new tasks contribute to a smooth process during the cover period.
This position is for you if
- You have a professional library education.
- You enjoy customer contact and teamwork and think and act in a service-oriented manner.
- You have cataloging knowledge.
- You are willing to work one Saturday per month and one evening per week until 7:00 p.m.
