About the job

The secondary school Affoltern a.A./Aeugst a.A. is an independent district school community.
About 50 teachers and specialist teachers teach around 320 students in Affoltern a.A. in the Ennetgraben school building and around 40 unaccompanied young people in asylum reception classes.
For our media center in the school building, we are looking for a media librarian (20%) starting May 1, 2026, or by arrangement.
After a break in operation of our school library, we are starting with our new media center. You can be part of it from the beginning.

This area of responsibility awaits you
− Management and operation of the media center
− Procurement, cataloging, and lending of media
− Co-design of the premises
− Co-responsibility for the development and further advancement of the media center
− Collaboration with students, teachers, and school management
− Organization of readings

Your profile
− You are a motivated and committed individual.
− You bring joy, commitment, and pedagogical skills in dealing with young people.
− You have a library training or the willingness to pursue further professional training in the media library area alongside your job, or alternatively a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
− You have a positive attitude, are a team player, and service-oriented.
− You are willing to be present at school at least two mornings per week during school weeks.
− You are willing to adapt your working and vacation times to the school year rhythm.
