Company Description
The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by the centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.
A position of sociocultural animator at 75% is open at the Plan-les-Ouates Meeting Center "Locados".
Job Description
- Participate in the smooth running of the center's animation activities, respecting the institutional project; assume responsibility for socio-educational work and animation within a youth sector (11-18 years) with tolerance for young adults up to 25 years old (under certain conditions);
- Work in partnership with various stakeholders around common projects for the development of associative life and neighborhood animation: municipality, TSHM, management committee, etc.;
- Actively participate in the development of animation programs during school holidays and special events;
- Ensure the supervision of monitors, interns, and the center's administrative and technical staff;
- Assume administrative tasks and responsibilities related to the role of sociocultural animator.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level or an equivalent university degree (education sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology / State Diploma of Specialized Educator (DEES), State Higher Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS) with SEFRI recognition for the last two diplomas);
- Proven experience, aptitude, and ease in working with adolescent and young adult populations;
- Good knowledge of the characteristics of animation work and managing complex situations;
- Recognized skills in project conceptualization and management, initiative, versatility;
- Writing and conceptual skills for setting up projects related to sociocultural animation and the center's institutional project;
- Ease and practice in networking work within a municipality, with various social, communal, and associative partners;
- Good knowledge of the Geneva network, especially regarding youth services; understanding of FASe functioning;
- Ability to work within a team with varied roles: coordinators, animators, socio-educational assistants, monitors, social secretaries, cleaners;
- Autonomy in managing projects and animation missions, initiative capacity;
- Dynamism and creativity, while demonstrating rigor and professionalism in meeting deadlines and tasks to be accomplished;
- Desired skills in mastering FASe tools (GIAC grids, monitor sheets, attendance management, etc.);
- Ease in welcoming and supporting a young audience (thus knowledge related to identity construction and socialization of youth) and ease with project methodology, networking and writing skills.
Additional Information
- Flexibility in working hours: availability and openness to irregular hours, evening work and during school holidays (including those between Christmas and New Year) and 52 weeks of work per year;
