Head of Operations North

Department of Civil Engineering | 80-100% | Samedan

The Department of Civil Engineering is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance, and operation of the cantonal roads as well as water engineering and slow traffic in Graubünden. In addition, we take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads within the canton. The canton’s road infrastructure includes over 1,450 engineering structures, including bridges at dizzying heights of up to 90 meters and tunnels up to 3 kilometers long. The challenges posed by the nature of our mountain canton in summer and winter make our work demanding and diverse. We are looking for the Road Maintenance Department in District 3 Samedan from May 1, 2026 or by agreement for a Head of Operations North

Your area of responsibility

Technical and personnel leadership of the northern operational maintenance team
Planning and execution of the operational maintenance of cantonal roads
Deployment planning of the two maintenance groups with a total of around 15 employees, vehicles, and equipment in cooperation with your two directly subordinate foremen
Support of the Construction Department with construction management tasks for the structural maintenance of cantonal roads
Providing on-call service as an operations manager and participating in avalanche service standby
