For our R&D Department in Saint-Prex, we are looking for a Technical Program Manager – Nuclear interconnection solutions.
As part of a strategic, multi-partner nuclear industry program, you will lead the development of advanced interconnection solutions, in particular connectors and cable assemblies designed for highly demanding environments where performance, safety, reliability, qualification, and documentation rigor are non-negotiable.
Working closely with the customer’s organization, external partners, and key internal stakeholders, including the Customer Program Manager, you will act as Fischer Connectors’ technical authority, ensuring alignment, driving technical choices, and securing on-time delivery of engineering evidence and compliant documentation.
This position combines deep technical leadership, program management, and multi-partner coordination. You will structure and orchestrate the work of a development consortium, steer design and qualification activities, manage risks, and ensure engineering deliverables meet nuclear-industry expectations.
This is an opportunity to influence product strategy, contribute to ambitious business cases, and shape innovative high-reliability interconnection solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE
Program & Technical Leadership
- Drive technical project management, specifications and development activities aligned with customer requirements and program objectives.
- Represent Fischer Connectors as the main technical counterpart, coordinating internal teams and external partners to secure alignment, deliverables, and timely issue resolution.
- Lead technical reviews, guide design decisions based on rigorous data, simulations, testing, and qualification evidence.
- Structure and manage program milestones, readiness gates, and technical documentation deliverables.
Engineering & Qualification Coordination
- Guide the multidisciplinary consortium during concept creation, design evaluation, prototyping, testing, and qualification activities.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear-industry expectations for long lifecycle, environmental robustness, traceability, and reliability.
- Apply and promote rigorous systems engineering methods, including requirements management, verification & validation (V&V), configuration control, and design justification.
Documentation & Compliance
- Drive documentation excellence: traceability matrices, validation dossiers, design justification reports, and qualification evidence.
- Ensure that all engineering deliverables meet the requirements of regulated, safety-critical environments.
- Support clarification, negotiation, and evolution of technical specifications with the customer and stakeholders.
Cross-Functional & External Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate closely with customer teams, research institutes, suppliers, and technical partners involved in the program.
- Facilitate discussions, help resolve technical blocking points, and maintain clear and structured communication across all parties.
- Ensure proactive and rigorous supervision of suppliers, including audits, monitoring and shared technical governance.
- Travel to customer facilities, laboratories, and manufacturing partners for requirements capture, reviews, audits and qualification activities, and technical decision meetings.
THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Micro-Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in new product development and project/program management within high-reliability or regulated industries (Nuclear, Medical, Aerospace,..).
- Strong understanding of cable assemblies, electromechanical connectors, sealing & shielding systems, or harsh-environment packaging.
- Experience operating within complex, multi-partner ecosystems (research institutes, scientific teams, global organizations).
- Solid knowledge of:
- Project management methodologies
- Risk assessment methodologies
- Long-lifecycle qualification and environmental testing
- V&V for safety-critical applications
- R&D and product development processes (PDP) and tools (PLM, SAP)
WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD
- Ability to lead through influence, structuring technical work while building consensus across stakeholders.
- Strong evidence-based problem-solving mindset and willingness to challenge assumptions with data and engineering rigor.
- Clear and precise communication skills (English and French), including documentation quality suited to strict qualification environments.
- Ownership mentality and strong accountability throughout the development lifecycle—from specification clarity to industrialization and customer acceptance.
