EFGB is the 46% shareholder in EFG International AG, a listed Swiss-based private banking and asset management group, which is also present in Continental Europe and the Middle-East, the UK, the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas.
EFGB services a long-standing clientele, offering classical private banking services. EFGB works closely with EFG International and its Swiss banking subsidiary, EFG Bank AG, in the areas of IT, operations, compliance, legal, treasury/global markets, finance/accounting, first and second line checks, risk control and account documentation management.
Job description:
We are looking for a Group Financial Controller responsible for overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements and regulatory reports.
The person will join an 8-people team, including members of the EFGB Executive Committee. He/she will report and work closely with the CFO and will hold the title of Group Financial Controller.
- Assist, get involved and/or prepare the group consolidated accounts under IFRS and Swiss GAAP, ensuring proper integration and intra-group elimination;
- Assist, get involved and/or prepare the consolidated financial statements (annual and semi-annual) under IFRS and Swiss GAAP, including performing consistency checks, reviewing notes and disclosures of subsidiaries;
- Assist, get involved and/or prepare the consolidated regulatory reporting, including regulatory capital adequacy reporting, supervisory reporting, comprehensive year end statistics, etc., ensuring data accuracy, reconciliation with consolidated accounts and timely submission;
- Assist, get involved and/or prepare the annual and semi-annual Pillar 3 disclosures, verifying compliance with regulatory requirement;
- Assist, get involved and/or review consolidated reports on liquidity (LCR, NSFR and LMT), and interest rate exposures (ZR) by performing reconciliations, plausibility checks, variance analyses and ensuring regulatory compliance;
- Assist, get involved and/or update group reporting procedures and prepare instructions for subsidiaries to guarantee consistency and adherence to deadlines;
- Assist, get involved and/or follow up on new IASB and Swiss accounting standards as applicable to banks and FINMA regulatory changes as may impact financial statements and regulatory returns such as capital adequacy, liquidity ratios, ESG reporting, SNB returns, etc.;
- Assist and support the CFO in ad hoc projects and analyses requested by the CFO;
- The person must have or develop his/her expertise in the above areas in order to be able to act as a temporary back-up for the CFO in coordination with the CEO if need be.
Profile:
- Middle-ranking finance professional with previous experience in banking or financial auditing of Swiss banks with a large international audit firm;
- Demonstrated expertise in financial consolidation (IFRS and Swiss GAAP);
- Good background in bank regulatory reporting (FINMA, Basel III, SNB requirements)
- Experience with internal controls: reconciliations, variance analyses, plausibility checks;
- Organizational skills;
- Flexibility, ability to integrate and interact with a team spirit, given the size of the unit, and ability to liaise effectively with other parts of the EFG organisation.
