Head of Commercial Excellence

Your Responsibilities:

As part of our ongoing growth, we are hiring for this newly created role, Head of Commercial Excellence. You will be responsible for driving the optimization of commercial operations and enhancing sales performance across the organization. This position oversees the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and tools to maximize revenue generation, improve sales effectiveness, and foster sustainable growth. The Head of Commercial Excellence collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure alignment with business objectives and enhance overall commercial capabilities.

Commercial Excellence Setup

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial excellence strategy aligned with the organization's overall needs and objectives.
  • Recruit, train and develop a best in class Commercial Excellence function
  • Start with Pricing Excellence, Market Intelligence and CRM implementation and prepare for the next steps of development of the Commercial Excellence capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management, marketing, sales, finance and operations to ensure alignment of commercial processes with overall business strategies

Pricing Excellence

  • Partner with product management to optimize pricing structures.
  • Build and develop pricing capabilities and tools and deploy them in the commercial organization.

Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis

  • Design and implement systematic market intelligence data collection and analysis processes to monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and threats
  • Use market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and drive competitive advantage.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Excellence

  • Oversee the utilization of CRM systems by the commercial organization to optimize customer relationship management processes.
  • Leverage CRM data and insights to identify sales opportunities, enhance customer engagement, and drive revenue growth.

Commercial Data Analytics

  • Develop and implement commercial data analytics and reporting capabilities to enable data-driven decision-making.

Commercial Operations Optimization

  • Establish metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards to monitor and evaluate commercial performance.
  • Analyse commercial processes, identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.

Training and Development

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the commercial organisation.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership or commercial excellence roles, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex commercial strategies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
