Our client, a leading financial institution in Basel, seeks a Data Management Specialist (m/f/e) 100%. We need an experienced data management professional with strong business analysis skills, a solid understanding of data protection principles, and excellent stakeholder management abilities. The ideal candidate is flexible and can quickly pivot across different topics and manage priorities effectively.

Description

The PDP (Personal Data Protection) is not fully implemented, so the contractor will guide business areas and work on a risk-based approach. The role involves 2/3 personal data work and 1/3 general data governance.

• Partnering with stakeholders to create comprehensive data inventories, mapping the flow of personal data across systems, processes, and third parties
• Collaborating with the IT department and various organizational units to gather and update asset inventories, including hardware, software, and data repositories
• Identifying and assessing privacy risks in data processing activities, recommending appropriate mitigations
• Supporting the team and educating employees on best practices for data privacy and confidentiality
• Aiding in the development of information and data governance practices

Profile

• +4 years of experience in Information Management, Data Protection, or in a Data Protection office, in Privacy/Compliance, Data Governance (e.g. as Business Analyst/Data Management Specialist/Data Governance Specialist etc.)
• Good understanding of data management (e.g. DAMA, DMBOK2) and relevant software platform solutions
• Familiarity with data protection regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or other applicable laws
• Bonus: Background in international organizations or central banks
• Bonus: Professional certifications in information management or data protection (e.g., Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)).
• Effective communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and data privacy
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
