For our client, an international financial institution with an excellent reputation in Basel, we are currently looking for a flexible Operational Risk Manager 100% who is able to start on short notice on a 8 months temporary contract with possibility for extension. For this role, a broad experience in Operational Risk is needed.

Description

Coordinating and executing second line of defense activities for operational risk management:

• Overseeing and performing second line of defence tasks in operational risk management, including risk and control assessments, risk identification and monitoring, and periodic risk reporting to senior stakeholders and the Board of Directors

Contributing to risk compliance processes for new products and services in transformation efforts:

• Supporting the organization of risk compliance processes for new products and services associated with transformation initiatives.

Researching and presenting industry best practices for risk monitoring:

• Investigating and presenting background on industry best practices and guidelines for risk monitoring practices and processes, as well as providing training on operational risk management and the three lines of defense model.

Ensuring risk artefacts are managed in the GRC tool

Ensuring that risk artefacts are accurately captured and managed within the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool.

Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience implementing or coordinating enterprise risk management or operational risk management at a commercial bank or central bank, IFI or financial utility in the first and second line of defense
• Solid understanding of risk management and the three lines of defense model for enterprise risk management
• Experience establishing and/or maintaining 1LOD, 2LOD risk monitoring processes and tools. Implementation experience would be a plus
• Experience interacting with operational risk management stakeholders assessing risk conditions relative to risk appetite
• Fluency in English (C1 level)
• Aptitude and experience in strategic project management and strong organizational skills
• Proficent user of MS Office, excellent command of PowerPoint and Excel
