As a Finance Specialist for Grant Reporting, you will help the Controlling team manage the administration, reporting and overall tracking of the growing number of grants and donations that the Forum receives each year to run various projects.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The Finance Specialist role will be part of the Controlling Team and will report to the Forum’s Direct Funding Controller. The position will interact daily with the Forum’s Direct Funding and Governance team as well as directly with the different platform teams benefiting from grants and donations. Contact with external and internal auditors will also be part of the role’s responsibilities.
Breakdown of main responsibilities
Support the financial administration of grants requirements
Implement standard procedures across the Forum
Support grant dependent teams in their budgeting and forecasting exercises
Perform functions of proactive administration and reporting to ensure grant compliance including, but not limited to:
Preparation and timely submission of grant financial reports
Screening and supporting expense allocation
Ensuring timely applications for grant disbursements
Supporting internal and external audits
Support the Direct Funding and Governance team in ensuring overall compliance with terms and conditions of grant agreements
Support in the implementation of IT tools designed to better manage grant life cycle and planning
Support in the implementation of a framework to recover Forum indirect costs
Prepare ad-hoc tasks and analysis for Head of Group Controlling as required
The successful candidate will be assessed on
Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to work efficiently with a large quantity of data and be able to translate that data into a business-driven narrative
Ability to compile numbers reliably and present them in a confident manner
Capacity to build strong relationships with the teams
Adaptability and ability to interface with various levels across the organization and show high emotional intelligence
Flexibility, maturity and the interpersonal and cross-cultural collaboration skills needed to work in a demanding and international environment
Preferred Requirements and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business and finance, international relations, public administration, or other relevant field
3 to 5 years of professional experience, preferably in a global company or international organization
Familiar with grant management procedures and donor relations
Accounting and budget management skills
High level proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (such as Power BI) a plus
Fluent in English and excellent oral/written communication skills
